Number 66 is a tune I like a lot because of the sort of fusion of a good catchy tune with a lot of the cool elements of good old fashioned indie rock. I won’t stretch for it. I just think it’s a great song.
the Breeders – Only in 3’s
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JJmXglVot xo
So what did you think? The Pixies or all of the acts that followed, or are you grateful for everything? What’s your favorite Breeders tune?
Thanks a lot, as always everybody. I really appreciate you guys checking in and listening and giving your opinions. Thanks.
Happy Friday!
LOL Shades.
That could have worked. "Hi R&P, Oh Ah Ah Ah, Ah Ah Ah?" I bet it would have drawn some attention.
I’m glad you liked the tune. That’s cool that you saw the Pixies. They put on a very good show when I got the chance to catch them.
Thanks a lot Shades. Happy Friday!
Never too late David. Thanks a lot for listening man. I’m glad you dug it.
Have a wonderful weekend my friend.
Hey Red Devil.
Actually Fortunately Gone made the top 4 tunes that I was considering for them. I love that tune.
Thanks a lot man. Glad you like the choice. Have a great weekend.
Hi Smoochy.
Thanks man. I’m glad you liked the choice. Have a good one.
Hi Captain,
That is a very fair point. I guess it has to do with the line-up fluxuations over the years. Truth be told, I haven’t heard more than a song or two of Throwing Muses (I have a Belly album that I think is ok) and I’ve never heard (until the link I will click) Josephine Wiggs other stuff. Jim Macpherson also was in GBV right?
You’re right though, it is always about the Pixies and it really shouldn’t be. Thanks for the links, I’ll give them a listen.
Have a great weekend man. Thanks!
Hi Captain.
I really enjoyed the Perfect Disaster tune. Kind of Jesus and Mary Chains-y in a way, but different too. I liked it. I’ll have to look a little deeper. Unfortunately the Throwing Muses tune gave me a "try again later" error message, but I’ll do that and report back.
Thanks for the links man. Have a great weekend.
Hi TL.
Yeah, Pod is a really good one. I think I still have to go with Last Splash as my favorite, but depending on the day you could hear that, Pod, or Title TK out of me on the subject. All great records. Iris is a great track too. I like Oh also.
Thanks a lot man. Have a good one. Happy Friday!
Hi Captain.
I have gone to the itunes store and purchased the self titled Throwing Muses. Unfortunately, it’s going onto my work computer and I probably won’t be able to actually listen to it until Monday morning (I’m off in 15 minutes), but those wheels are in motion. Thanks for the tip. I’m excited to get to it.
Have a good one Captain!
I’d name it: Oh ah ah ahhhhh.
Nice song. Short. Sweet vocals…
And I really know nothing about the Pixies or the Breeders…. Saw the Pixies a few years ago, tho, and liked them enough to buy a t-shirt… still have no albums, tho! hmmm.
**edit**
Thanks, Prof
And a very merry weekend to you, too!
Yeah, you know a band is good when you’re hearing their music for the first time live and they’re rockin’ it!! Because of volunteer ushering I’ve gotten to see so many groups that I wouldn’t have ponied up the money to see, ya know, sight un-heard~ lol I’ve had lots of rich, musical experiences because of ‘working’ shows. Pixies; Bright Eyes was a high point; Arcade Fire; even Metallica, for crying out loud! Seriously, I knew practically none of their music when I worked a Stones show and they were the warm up band
It’s been great.

NFC Wild Card Race……?
The Packers, Eagles, Giants, and Falcons seem to be the top contenders for the 2 Wild Card spots in the NFC. Which 2 teams do you pick? Why will those teams make it? What will hold the team back from reaching the playoffs? Please provide an argument.
The top 2 right now is Eagles and Packers, IMO I think it will be the Eagles and Giants
kcdress305 | Nov 24, 2009
the Eagles and the Giants are the two best teams. Nothing will stop the Eagles
francisaburgess | Nov 24, 2009
The Eagles and Giants are fighting for wild card although either one of them can take the division crown from Dallas. As a matter of fact the G-Men win the NFC East crown and the Eagles and Packers are wild card. The Falcons secondary is too weak at the point of attack , anyone can pick them apart.
Ashani F 2.0 | Nov 24, 2009
look bro, its WAY too easy to be talking wild card race. think about it. there’s a small chance san francisco tops arizona. the cowboys never play well in december.
i think green bay has a chance to make it, but they are basically competing with the big three in the nfc east, especially if they lose games to teams like the bucs.
as long as philly, dallas, and new york compete well, two of those three will be your wild card teams.
don’t drop atlanta out of the picture just yet either.
basically, its still too early to talk wild card.
laidback88 | Nov 24, 2009
The two losers from the NFC east. Packers are most likely done and so are the Falcons.
Prisoner | Nov 24, 2009
eagles are 5-2 in coference play and also have over a 60 pt differential. I think they are the they lock to be WC if they dont win division. The giants also have it good because they beat the falcons and its unlikely that the giants are gonna have a total meltdown. I think the giants will get in because they will beat the vikings at the last game of the season. (either vikings will be sitting their players or take the giants too lightly) Falcons actually have the worst chance since they are 4-4 in conference play. it will be intresting on what the niners and panthers do because they have an opportunity to slip in the back door, (car/atl are 1-1 and have both same conference record) and (niners play 5 more nfc games 1 of them being arizona in which they won the first game)
Lee | Nov 24, 2009
I am going to say that the Giants will not need the wild card because they will win the division. The Dallas Cowboys and the Falcons will win the wild cards. Dallas has been horrible on offense the last couple of weeks and been lucky to get out with a win. I say they lose to the Giants on Thursday. As for the Packers, they have some tough games coming up against Arizona, Chicago, Baltimore, and the Steelers. They could easily lose two of those games, maybe three, and I say that puts them out of the race. The Eagles could win the Wild Card over the Falcons, but I like the Falcons chances.
ethridgematthew | Nov 24, 2009
It’s going to be a close one that’s for sure. I’ll go with the Packers and the Eagles, they seem to be more on track than the Giants and Falcons right now. Giants finally got a win, but look who it was against>>>Falcons.
Miami LandSharks | Nov 24, 2009
i think the packers and eagles will win it mainly on their remaining schedules and the giants and falcons recently have been not that great
Lions, Vikings, and Bears Suck | Nov 24, 2009
To be honest…. Before the season started… My NFC Championship prediction was Philadelphia vs. Atlanta. Now both teams seem to be fighting for a playoff berth.
So i’ll go with….
Atlanta Falcons and Philadelphia Eagles
Beast | Nov 24, 2009
Giants and Eagles
Mexican American Chica | Nov 24, 2009
Falcons have almost no shot because they wont have tie breakers against two potential wild card teams, NYG and Dallas, and maybe even philly if lose to them.
The eagles are probbaly going to get one, and the other will come down to Giants/Packers.
iceman | Nov 24, 2009
no way the packers make it, and if for some strange reason they do, they will get dominated.

Stacey Magical | Nov 26, 2009
I think the Broncos have a chance today. They need to win in order to not fall too far behind San Diego in the playoff race. I would bet on the Giants to win though.
Richard T | Nov 26, 2009
Giants will defiantely win.
AaronP | Nov 26, 2009

It depends. I seen the hard cover collection for $50-$110. I look online before going to stores. Try Barnes & Nobles.

Little Kidnappers, The
26. November 2009
|
IMDB rating: 5.00 Plot: Loosely based on a ’50’s movie of the same name, it tells the story of two young orphan boys who travel by themselves from the Old country to join their father’s family in Canada. There they encounter their stern disciplinarian grandfather who has alienated himself from some of his neighbors. There is particularly no love lost between the grandfather and his Dutch neighbors, who he generalizes as being responsible for his son’s death in the Boor War. A side product of this animosity is that it is keeping apart the boy’s aunt and her Dutch doctor suitor. The two boys change everything though when they find a young baby on the beach… |

Whats the name of the film where a boy gets lost in the city?
I know this is going to be very vague because I last seen it when I was very little. It’s about a boy who gets lost in the city and there’s kidnappers after him. He gets rescued in the end? Very vague I know, I’ll know it if I read it.
Edit; I know it’s definitely not home alone. I’m watching one of them right now on Channel 5 lol. The kid is much younger than Kevin from this, like almost a baby. I’m sure it’s called something like Lost in the City? Or Boy in the city or something?

What's the best way to cook a moist, flavorful turkey breast roast?
26. November 2009
I wanted to roast a turkey breast this year but I’ve never done it before, and I’m worried I’ll end up with some dry, tasteless bird.
I found a good recipe (below) but I’m wondering how well the rub will penetrate the turkey if the roast is wrapped up in netting (and still has skin on it). If I remove the netting, how would I get it back on again? Or should I pierce the turkey with a fork so that the flavor can sink it?
I appreciate any input! I’m very new at this!
Boneless Turkey Breast With Herb Butter
INGREDIENTS:
-2 1/2-pound boneless turkey breast (have the butcher roll and tie it)
-10 tablespoons butter, at room temperature
-2 1/2 tablespoons minced mixed fresh herbs, such as tarragon, rosemary, sage, parsley and thyme
-2 teaspoons fresh lemon juice
-1 teaspoon + 1 tablespoon kosher salt
-1 teaspoon + 1 tablespoon freshly ground pepper
-1 (14-ounce) can low-salt chicken broth
INSTRUCTIONS:
1) Preheat the oven to 350
Help me with this calculus problem please?
26. November 2009
A roast turkey is taken from an oven when its temperature has reached 175 Fahrenheit and is placed on a table in a room where the temperature is 75 Fahrenheit.
a.) If the temperature of the turkey is 145 Fahrenheit after half an hour, what is its temperature after 45 minutes? Fahrenheit
b.When will the trukey have cooled to 110 Fahrenheit? hours.
turkey temp is 175 F
after 1/2 hour u r getting 30F difference
a) 175-145=30F
it means for 30 minutes we get change 30F
for 45min the change will be 45F
the temperature is 130F
b) 175-110=65 it will take 1:5hrs
