Uh I have 2 things to say to you. First of all, it is not cool that he didnt get you anything because even if he has no money, he could always write you a note-so I would not be happy.
As for his mom, that is just really weird! I dont know how old you are but I assume you are under 18. I might say nothing to her but I might be tempted to say I understand you want us to practice safe sex but I just wanted you to know it isnt any part of our relationship right now. Frankly its NONE OF HER BUSINESS so long as you ARE being smart about it. Is it possible he knew about the condoms? I dunno but thats just whack. I have an upper lip and some excess hair which I’ve thoroughly groomed hygeniecally waxed and maintained my entire life to the point of a near model- that being my only flaw, as I am of hispanic descent. Do these men do this to make their women feel more beautiful? That’s what I’ve observed, considering his lady was no dime peice, as I can clean up to be. THe Exodus (when did it really happen)?
Scholars usually date the Exodus to around 1500 B.C., and 1300 B.C.
The problem I have with this is the scholarly bias. Most are secular and tend to just want to date the Exodus to that time period. Why? Because then, they can claim the Exodus and Joshua’s campaignes were complete myths and nothing in history or archaeology back then agrees with it.
But is there one age in Egyptian history that agrees with the biblical description? The Bible gives complete evidence that Egypt was a world power and known far and wide back then. The height of Egyptian power was actually in the Old Kingdom, a thousand years before scholars tend to date the Exodus. The plagues, Red Sea parting, etc, would make a historian (as I am a history major) believe the only probable conclusion to assume is that Egypt completely collapsed after the Israelites left them.
They were powerful intitially, so had many enemies. Thei country was striken by plagues, their entire army and Pharaoh were destroyed, etc. I should be looking for a total collapse in Egyptian government back then when the country was in turmoil. Furthermore, the Bible states Egypt would never be the same.
THe end of the Old Kingdom around 2180 B.C. is the absolute only date in Egyptian history that matches he Exodus account. In fact, the Pharaoh mentioned in the Bible lived reigned extremely long, for it states the same Pharaoh finally died when Moses was 80 years old and returned. Pharaoh Pepi II at the very end of the Old Kingdom Era is the only one that matches the Exodus account. He lived over a hundred and reigned 94 years, the longest and oldest Pharaoh Egyptian history has ever seen.
Furthermore, the Pharaoh who reigned right after him (the one who was killed at the Red Sea Parting) reigned only one year. The Bible records the time span between Moses’ burning bush scene to when the Israelites left Egypt was one year. The Pharaoh died almost immediately, and nothing is known from him. He is very unknown in history, with his body and tomb being lost. Yet again, this is something I accept to find that would agree with the Exodus account.
The main source for the dating of the Exodus between 1500-1450 B.C. is Kings 6:1, stating the Temple of Solomon was constructed 480 years after the Exodus. However, numbers are the most susceptable to be corrupted in manuscripts from ancient texts. In fact, we already know Kings had a discrepency in one number it gave, for Kings and Chronicles claim Aheziah was 42 years old when he began his reign, and 22 years old.
If the Bible gave me multiple sources for the Exodus dating to that time, I would find it absurd then not to trust the date. But the fact is, Kings 6:1 is the only relative source in the Bible.
So I look at this and wonder why the very FOUNDER of biblical Chronology in the 2nd century stated this:
