IMDB rating: 4.10 Plot: Valentine’s Day 1988: At the school dance, geeky Jeremy Melton bravely faces one rejection after the other when asking four popular girls to dance with him. A fifth girl, plump and insecure, agrees, but they end up making out under the bleachers. When a group of school bullies catches them, the girl claims that Jeremy attacked her. This causes them to strip off his clothes and beat him up in front of the entire school. Flash forward to 2001. We meet the five girls who were in that school gym: Kate (Marley Shelton), Paige (Denise Richards), Shelly (Katherine Heigl), Lily (Jessica Cauffiel) and the formerly plump Dorothy (Jessica Capshaw). They are all in their 20’s now and trying to sort out their love lives, which is appropriate, since Valentine’s Day is coming up. After a disastrous date with a loser, one of the girls, a pre-med student, is murdered by a Cherub-mask wearing killer who sent her a death threat in the form of a Valentine card prior to the attack. After the four remaining girls are reunited at her funeral, they all start receiving threatening cards and messages. At first they don’t know who would want to hurt them, but eventually they figure that maybe Jeremy is responsible. Police records show that Jeremy has completely disappeared, so no one knows what he looks like. Could the formerly nerdish Jeremy have had plastic surgery and turned into one of the girls’ handsome boyfriends? Who ever it is, the lone survivor has to put a stop to this spurned individual’s murder spree before she, too, becomes a valentine to die for. |

Bleeding at 7 weeks, have seen heartbeat twice… could i still miscarry?
I have been spotting off and on since friday. I’ve been to the ER twice, had ultra sounds, the heartbeat was strong both times, my HCG levels are rising, and are where they should be. They told me both times it was a threatened miscarriage. They told me if I continue spotting or bleeding, its fine, unless I have abdominal cramps. Today I started bleeding. I have gone thru 2 pads. I am not having cramps, but noticed there were a couple clots (no bigger than a grain of rice) when I just went to the bathroom. I do not have cramps. I feel just fine. My nurse told me to be on bed rest from now on. I’m just wondering if this could be a miscarriage, or if its something else. If I wasn’t pregnant I’d be on my period right now. Could that be what is happening? Has any one else had this? Any advice would be appreciated, I’m really worried….
yes I had this exact same thing when I was pregnant with my son. I started to spot around the 8 week mark and literally bled for the rest of my entire pregnancy. Some days it was just light pink whenever I wiped after going to the bathroom and some days I would get clots and have heavy bleeding…almost like a period. I thought I forsure miscarried when I had a bad bleed at 8 weeks pregnant but I never had any cramping and then the bleeding would lighten up again. I went to the ER several times as well and had emergency ultra sounds…every time I went the baby was fine and the bleeding couldn’t be explained. I ended up getting put on bed rest when I was about 5 months pregnant and had to stay on bed rest until my son was born, but it was worth it now
I saw so many doctors and nurses and nobody was able to explain to me why i was bleeding. at first they thought I had a low lying placenta…and I did…but it ended up moving back up and the bleeding still continued. My OB was so stumped, he just said that some women jsut happen to bleed during pregnancy…no reason for it but it happens. So maybe you are one of those women just like me? if you arent having any cramping then you are probably fine, just stay off your feet as much as you can, that was the only thing that kept my bleeding under control.

No that is not your period honey. A period is the shedding of your uterine lining and if that happened in pregnancy you would miscarry. Unfortunetly seeing the heartbeat doesn’t really mean anything in terms of whether or not you will have a miscarriage. You might not be. There are many other causes for spotting during pregnancy. I know it’s hard to wait to get answers. Good luck.

What would be the male equivalent to a botched abortion?
I am an 18-year-old gay man and I would like to lead a life of tragedy and drama. I saw the movie Revolutionary Road and the main character gives herself an abortion, but botches it and dies, which I think is beautiful in a tragic way. What would be the male equivalent to a botched abortion leading to death? I mean, a tragic and poetic death.
I personally don’t think it’s tragic and poetic in killing yourself. I think it’s stupid.

Hi I have a 10 gallon a 20 gallon a 40 gallon a 55 gallon tank and I want to put a red tailed shark in my 10 gallon not any of my other tanks will they be compatible with the above listed fish or are they too aggressive? please help!
It’s not going to work.
These guys get quite big, around 6", and are exceptionally active, they really need that 55 gallon+ with robust similar-sized or larger tank mates. In a tiny 10 gallon it’s likely to bully everyone.
The Danios (presuming Zebra?) and Black Skirt Tetra should really be in shoals of 6 of their own kind and aren’t really suitable for a 10 gallon either.

Very Interesting Story. Can I get some opinions?
Something very interesting happened to me today and it really got me thinking. It was 9PM and i wanted to see a movie right away so I headed to Loews theatre and bought a ticket for Lovely Bones. I didnt bring anybody as I knew nobody would want to go with me to see this movie so I went alone. No big deal, I do it every now and then. So I had about a half hour to spare so I headed over to the arcade games and began playing Marvel vs. Capcom 2.(fighting game for those who dont know) So I am having a good time and these three little punks no older than 12 years old come up to me and start talkin like they are tough ****. I just ask them "how old are you" and they respond "old enough" then i respond "old enough for what" to get them flustered because they may be kids but it is still 3 on 1 and I needed to keep a firm hold on the situation. They then continue by asking me if I am with anyone. I lied to them and told them I was with a few friends that have not showed up yet. They continue by bull****ing "all dudes im assuming" and "have you every been with a girl."(like they even know what that is about) So I notice my right arm starting to shake a bit because I wanted to plow these three bratts into the ground, but I still remember that they are only children so I asked them if they would like to play a friendly game with me. One of them said "sure you wanna go, this is gonna be easy." I hand him two tokens to join and he does. As we are playing the other two are trying to talk me down telling me I am "acting geeky" and "thats cheating." Needless to say I mopped the floor with the kid. He didnt even scratch any of my characters. After that I calmly said "here, take my place" and walked away. The kids didnt say anything after that and that was the end of it.
I felt really good about how I handled that situation, but I couldnt help but wonder about this generation of kids. Where were their parents at the time and did they support this kind of behavior? These kids had no ****ing respect for anything. It was like a mini gang. Since I was allot older than them it didnt scare me but what if it was my little 13 year old cousin? Would he have been able to deal with it as well? My cousin has got himself into a few fights at his school and with behavior like what I saw at Loews I can see why. I guess what I am saying is that parents need to get their ****ing act together because it is this kind of **** that is eating this world alive! Our kids can save this world or corrupt whatever is left of it. Better put in the work while they are young.

You were a wise young man and acted way more mature for your age. And your contemplation about the younger generation is deep. Well I think as long as we have level headed young people like you, all is not lost.
Be well. We saw the movie The Lovely Bones a week or so a go and that was a great movie I thought because it makes me think about what would happen if someone took my kid. And what mistakes did the character make in the movie that young people can learn from.
Life in reality is always about seeing the world not in selfish terms as if what you do is the most important thing in the world. Never is. It’s about you and how you interact with the others and to always be wise in the choices one makes. Not to be too trusting of strangers.
I think both the incident before the movie and the movie itself was a great experience. In fact, thanks for sharing this with us.

I agree with you and this story is interesting for me to read. I have a ten year old son turning eleven this month. He is still a kid and fortunately a most wonderful child. I mean he has a good heart and he acts well to others, nevertheless he is still a kid and I would not let him run around in places you mentioned, also not if he is two years older. I believe strongly that parents take indeed a big part of responsibility in how far kids this age act in social situations. I heard horror stories and it makes me sad. Sad for the kids .

Firstly I’d like to say that you handled the situation maturely.
secondly, I don’t believe you should be angry with these kids, they are only behaving in that way as a result of their environment, their behaviour is not only a result of their parents lack of responsibilities but also society.
Until society realises that its responsible for the actions of its members as much as the members within society there will be no forward progress in better behaviour. One reason I abhor punishment is because it excuses society from its share of responsibility, it is far better to reward good behaviour than punish bad behaviour, educate people correctly.

My 1 1/2 year old has severe seperation anxiety, I cant use even shut the door to use the restroom its so bad.?
What causes this?! Ive had three kids and my other two had no problem what so ever with me leaving. Now this one is SEVERELY attached to my hip. If i go downstairs to do laundry, even with my husband home and the kids all upstairs, she screams bloody murder the whole time. I do the right thing (i think) and tell her ill be right back and never give in and let her go with me. Even when i use the restroom and shut the door she SCREAMS… my husband tried to distract her but NOTHING works… not even cookies. She is CONSTANTLY saying "mommy goes bye bye" ALL THE TIME.. if i walk in the other room she runs after me crying mommy goes bye bye. I mean its ridiculous! and nothing i am use to. If she is asleep in her bed that’s still in our room, and i go upstairs to get my slippers or something, she doesn’t wake up until i start to leave the room, its like she can smell me or something LOL. We have a sound machine plus im super super quiet so i know its not the noise. But it always happens, like she can sense me. Im pretty much a stay at home mom, i work only about 10 hours a week so its not like im gone all the time or anything. Im just not sure why she does this! She doesnt want to be held all the time or anything, just always around me.. ALWAYS! even when i take a shower she keeps opening up the sliding shower door and tries to cllimb in! its a struggle, and not sure what to do.
I don’t know why children have these issues. My nephew had a Major problem with it too…at the age of 7!! He wouldn’t even let my sister sleep. We think that his was triggered due to the death of his aunt. My sister did not want him to attend the visitation and my brother in law insisted. Since that day he started in with the fear of death. My sister would be asleep and he would wake her in fear that she had died. He would think that she had stopped breathing and he would go into complete panic. When my niece wanted to leave he would throw a fit and cry. He would beg my sister to tell her she could not leave. He was afraid that she would not come back. He was scared that she would have an accident that would end her life. He only had these panic attacks when it came to my niece and sister.He ended up growing out of it but it was very frustrating for my sister to deal with this. I feel your pain and I hope that your little one grows out of it too.

what is the meter of this poe poem?

Its meter is inconsistent- varying between trochaic tetrameter and iambic tetrameter. But he throws in sponees too.
I adore Poe but regular meter was not his intent.
This is a wonderful poem, but if you are doing a critical analysis I would focus on imagery and theme and how they relate to form.

Strong homoeroticism in The Vampire Chronicles?
I’ve started to read Interview With A Vampire and it definitely does have hints of homoeroticism, which , sue me, pleases me. So far it’s only hints and the general feeling so I can’t be sure.
That is why I am asking here, people who have read the chronicles. Are there homosexual couples in The Vampire Chronicles? Are they as common as the heterosexual ones etc?
There actually is more homosexuality in the further novels. There are really only hints in the first three, but in the fourth one Lestat actually states that he wants to get into bed with one of the other male characters (I know vampires don’t really have that ability in these series but if you read the fourth book you’ll understand). Also, ‘The Vampire Armand’ has some pretty explicit homosexuality. Mostly, there is more hinting and suggestion in the novels than explicit sex and sexuality, but the vampires tend to swing both ways, if you know what I mean, and that’s more than just hinted at. No homosexual couples but there is that sort of "hint". If that pleases you, you should see the movie. I’ve never seen Brad Pitt and Tom Cruise so… uh… borderline gay.

There aren’t homosexual couples in the traditional sense, but the overtones get so deep throughout the series, that you would be wading through the tension by the second or third novel.
